Who would have ever thought that one man would have make such an impression as Tim Tebow has of recent. And what about the game they played against the Steelers during the Over Time.
So, what is Tebow doing to make his trademark so popular, the Tebow? He and John 3:16 received more hits on google search than any other topic in the US. Why? Why is everyone talking about doing the “Tebow?”
Here is what Tim had to say in an interview back in November with Skit Bayless:
“If you’re married and you have a wife and you really love your wife, is it good enough to only say to your wife ‘I love her’ the day you get married? Or should you tell her every single day when you wake up and every opportunity? That’s how I feel about my relationship with Jesus Christ.”
1 Thessalonians 5:18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Tim is publicly offer up thanks to God, offer God the credit for any great play he makes. Credit is given to Jesus Christ his Savior, the only doorway to God.
John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Jesus statement that He is the way is very important. It goes back to the Hebrew language. First, is the name of a tribe of Israel called Judah. Moses was instructed to build a tabernacle, a mobile place of worship. The tribe that was stationed at the front entrance was the tribe of Judah. Judah means praise. Therefore, to get to the place of worship you enter praise. Jesus was from the tribe of Judah.
Psalm 100:4, “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise.” Whose gates and courts? God’s, of course.
Second, we already know that Judah mean’s praise. The English translation for God’s name is Yawah. In the Hebrew the only difference between the name Judah and the name Yawah is a single letter placed in the middle of Yawah to make it Judah. It is the Dalet. This letter means door.
Therefore, we can say that in the word Judah, which means praise, is a door in the middle of God, Yawah. Who did Jesus say that He was? The way. He also calls Himself the door in John 10:9.
John 10:9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.
So, what is Tim Tebow doing? He is accessing God through a door each time he kneels to give credit to God. Our praises is where God dwells and Tebow knows this.
Psalm 22:3 But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel.
The “Tebow” is not about a kneeling position as much as it is a heart position. His heart is kneeling before God. Kneel all you want but it will never take the place of a kneeling heart. It is an attitude of gratitude!
What is the basis for his gratitude? John 3:16.
